» Bucks County In Home Portraits

Seldom do I ever get requests for portraits of just one person. Usually, my sessions tend to be with families, children, or couples—the usual standard for people seeking pictures. Yet this past year alone, I noticed a sudden increase for people to want portraits by themselves. I traveled over to the suburbs of Main Line Philadelphia where I met Stephanie at her beautiful home. There we embarked on a lovely at home session where I captured the aesthetic of her gorgeous home and her bohemian inspired styled session.

At first, I thought maybe it was a fluke of some sort. Yet as the months progressed, more and more people turned to me for these types of sessions.

I love creative portrait sessions. It’s a chance for me to explore some creative avenues and try different techniques. It’s one of the primary reasons I even got a studio in Philadelphia for portraits and styled shoots.

She wanted to celebrate her birthday by doing a bohemian-styled look in her home for this particular session. Her home alone looked like it was straight out of Vogue magazine. Everything about this session was very editorial-like, right down to the roaming chickens. It made me long for the day I will own a home and possibly turn my backyard into an oasis for moments like this one. To sit and be at peace, surrounded by nature, beautiful weather, and of course some chickens (I want chickens!)

You don’t always need a reason to hire a photographer. Maybe you want some beautiful photos without having to hold your camera phone for a change. Perhaps you need some new pictures for your social media profiles or dating sites. Maybe you… want to look pretty and need someone to capture it.

Getting photographs doesn’t have to be a milestone event. Sometimes it’s okay to want to have beautiful portraits to look back on and remember yourself in this here and now moment. Someday you’re going to look back at them and be glad you did it, too.
