When I was asked to photograph a surprise Philly proposal on a boat, I didn’t know what to expect—it was actually my first time on one of the gorgeous Sea Philly boats! I was a little nervous (hello, open water!), but super excited. The day was cloudy, a bit rainy, and surprisingly chilly—but honestly, it was still absolutely beautiful.
As we cruised down the Delaware River, the couple took in the quiet, peaceful views of the city skyline. Then came the moment—he dropped to one knee and proposed right there on the deck. Just the two of them, the breeze, and this perfect little world carved out in the middle of the river.
After the big “yes,” they shared champagne, laughed through the chill, and wrapped up their evening with a toast and dinner on the pier. It was romantic, emotional, and one of those sessions I’ll always remember.
If you’re thinking about proposing in Philly and want something a little different, I can’t recommend a boat proposal enough. The experience is private, peaceful, and totally unforgettable.
