Though a proposal is a prerequisite for almost every session I book (hey, I’m an engagement and wedding photographer, after all!), seldom am I present for the actual question popping! You can imagine my giddiness every time I get a call to photograph a proposal, then – I feel like I’m on a secret mission in the name of love!
My session with these two started with Lionel reaching out to me to see if I’d be able to help him pull this off. (The answer to this is always yes, by the way). Then he explained how it was going to all go down:
We would meet at the Assembly Rooftop Lounge located at The Logan Philadelphia, Curio Collection by Hilton hotel. Initially, he wanted to meet in the evening, but I strongly encouraged a golden hour shot as I always find that lighting to be magical. At first, it didn’t go as planned as there were some restrictions that neither of us knew. However, the staff at the hotel did everything they could so the proposal could still happen.
Finally, the moment we were all waiting for, Lionel got down on one knee and she was completely surprised! She couldn’t stop crying happy tears! Oh, and of course she said YES!
Lionel did such an excellent job of orchestrating this whole thing and keeping it a secret from his now fiance! It made for one of the most genuine and sweetest proposals! Not to mention the ring is gorgeous! I love doing Philadelphia proposals when the opportunity hits. No matter what, I ensure my client gets results.
Congratulations to both of you, and so glad I was there to document this incredible moment! And thank you to The Logan Philadelphia for allowing us to use your beautiful hotel! I can only hope I get to work at this location again. Maybe for a wedding?
