COVID-19 is still a concern for many Philadelphia residents, especially those who planned on getting married. This year, my work has dropped dramatically due to rescheduling or cancellations because of this epidemic. Yet despite the drop in business, I was still thankful for the few who decided to alter their original plans so they could marry in this new way of life. Masks and social distancing are now part of our day-to-day lives and smaller weddings are becoming the norm. Whether it’s tiny elopements or micro weddings, Philadelphia couples are successfully adapting to the changes with minimal issues.
Sandy and Marrissa, a couple who lives in New York, really was looking forward to their engagement session in the Big Apple. Unfortunately, COVID-19 struck right around the period we were supposed to do it and postponed everything until much later in the year. Despite the setback, we were still able to do a fun Engagement session in Center City Philadelphia and then reconvene in September for their rescheduled and relocated wedding day at the Bolingbroke Mansion in Radnor, Pennsylvania.
With a much smaller party of close friends and family, this beautiful couple said their vows under an autumn setting. I love meeting with my couples for Engagements because during the day of the wedding they never have to worry about a thing. I look at it as a trial run so they can experience what I do and thus feel confident about what they’re going to look like later on. See, I like ensuring my couples know that I got them and to not worry. In fact, this goes for any couple getting married whether it’s with me or another professional—do an engagement session! Trust me when I say it will help you in being relaxed on the day of to the point where you’re not even focusing on me and too busy being completely in love. It makes documenting those special moments meaningful and genuine.
