This year, I was excited at being able to travel to Jamaica to work as a Jamaica destination wedding photographer. The couple was one I worked with before doing their Engagement session, and I was thrilled when they came back to work with me in capturing their wedding day. It was an exciting and fantastic experience full of diverse cultures, excellent food, beautiful blue waters, and all the beer and rum you can drink. Sadly, I did not take full advantage of my first visit due to zoning into full-time photographer mode. Hopefully, I can say I went back next year, but this time on vacation.
Ben and Keshema were excited about getting married in Jamaica. It was an important event for Keshema because she was getting married in her home country. Traveling from Philadelphia to Jamaica to attend a destination wedding was an experience. The heat was overwhelming to the point I was melting by the end of the reception! Somehow I managed not to pass out from heat exhaustion (ha!) and was able to capture her pre-wedding celebration on a catamaran with friends and family. There was plenty of music, dancing, and gorgeous weather. My experience as a Jamaica destination wedding photographer onboard a catamaran was one I probably will never have the opportunity to experience again. And boy, did it look fun jumping off!
Once it was all said and done, we retired back to Rockhouse Hotel to await the next day—wedding day! Caribbean weddings are so much fun, and I can’t wait for the opportunity to photograph another wedding as a Jamaica destination wedding photographer.
