I have wanted to talk about these two since the session! One thing I will never get tired of with this career is meeting people I click with quickly, whether through geekery, shared personality traits, or just being able to vibe easily. When that happens, it always makes for a fantastic session because they’re so comfortable with me that I can capture all their genuine interactions with minimal guidance. I’m just there capturing them being their best selves, which makes for pure magic in the end.
It was close to two years ago when I first met these two. Dana reached out to me after expressing how much she loved my work and wanted to see if I could do a session with her then-boyfriend, Stacey. After some brainstorming, I came up with the idea to do a picnic for the session, and Dana was all for it. The weather was perfect, and these two came prepared with the most adorable picnic setup. They nailed their couple’s session with sweet shyness, and affectionate playing that made for perfectly told photographs about their love. I loved how these two love each other and told Stacey to keep me in mind when he finally popped the question.
And indeed, he was true to his word!
Now here we are, and these two are getting married in 2023! How exciting!! Of course, we had to do an Engagement session to commemorate the moment. Even if these two already had beautiful couple pictures they could use for their save-the-dates, I still wanted them to bring all the style and charisma for their Engagement. Stacey brought his high energy and ability to keep Dana smiling and laughing. And Dana showed up in a beautiful frilly, turquoise dress with a gorgeous shade of red hair that popped against her skin.
We hit up Awbury Arboretum for their session in November and did one-half of our time in formal and the remaining half in casual clothes. One thing I will say about this area is that it is vast and gorgeous during the autumn season. Plenty of open greenery, colorful trees, and quiet walkways with leaves skittering across the road. After wandering the entire area, we ended the session on a beautiful sunset note. I’m excited to see these two again this spring for their wedding.
